Career Summary

Roof Consulting Services

Mr. Loefgren has provided the assessment, design and selection of appropriate roof replacement and recovering systems based on observed conditions, building code requirements and owner's budget limitations. Assessment services include visual observation, roof moisture surveys using infrared thermography, and database asset management programs. Construction document preparation includes plans and specifications used by building owners and managers to solicit competitive bid proposals from prequalified roofing contractors. Experience also includes the observation and monitoring of roof construction for compliance with project specifications and good roofing construction practices.

Mr. Loefgren has evaluated and prepared construction documents for many types of low slope roof systems including built up roofs, modified bitumen membranes, and single ply roof membranes as well as steep slope roof systems including asphalt shingles, concrete and clay roof tile, and metal panel roof systems. Construction document preparation experience also includes repairs of waterproofing deficiencies and replacement or improvement of wall cladding systems and plaza deck waterproofing systems.

Building Envelope Consulting Services

Failure investigation experience includes water intrusion investigations of building envelope wall cladding systems including brick, granite, precast concrete, synthetic stone, ceramic tile, portland cement plaster (stucco), exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), siding, and window assemblies. Assessment services frequently include diagnostic water testing generally based on ASTM and AAMA methods. After probable causes of water intrusion are identified, repair or remediation recommendations are typically prepared. Services have also included preparation of construction documents and construction administrative services.

Building Commissioning Services

Mr. Loefgren has provided Building Commissioning Services for the Roofing and Building Envelope Systems for large medical and education facilities. Preconstruction phase services include review and critique of construction documents during various stages of design development.
